Why Age Defense:
Men and women are biologically different, and so is their skin. Typically the male dermis is about 20 per cent thicker than the female dermis. However, thicker is not necessarily tougher, and because men have a larger muscle mass, this then translates into deeper expression lines compared to women. Men’s skin is also drier and more sensitive to environmental conditions and ultraviolet light.
Immune responses also differ between the genders, not only do men have a distinct dermal microflora they are also more prone to both bacterial and viral infections of the skin. This is partly due to their grooming routines and daily shaving that can lead to patterns of skin inflammation and infection rarely seen in women.
With this in mind, Gentlemen’s Tonic Age Defence was formulated and developed to protect men’s skin and promote a healthy lifestyle from within.
Promotes hydrated, healthier skin from the inside out with a powerful blend of nourishing ingredients that support its natural collagen production. Antioxidant-rich formula to help fight free radical damage. Helps regulate and reduce inflammation of the skin.

Antioxidant. Contributes to collagen production and protection of cells against oxidative stress. A potent antioxidant that can help neutralize free radicals, vitamin C aids in the skin’s natural regeneration process. Vitamin C can also help fend off the signs of ageing because of its vital role in the body’s natural collagen synthesis. It helps to heal damaged skin, and it may help reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Adequate vitamin C intake can also help repair and prevent dry skin.
ZEAXANTHIN & LUTEIN
Antioxidants from the Carotenoids family. Carotenoids, especially lutein and zeaxanthin isomers, filter blue light and protect skin from environmental factors, including high-energy sources. They can protect the skin from sun damage and improve skin tone and slow the ageing process. It has been proven that supplementation with these two antioxidants lightens and improves skin conditions.
Hyaluronic acid, also known as hyaluronan, is a clear, gooey substance naturally produced by our body. The largest amounts of it are found in the skin, connective tissue, and eyes. Its main function is to retain water to keep your tissues well lubricated. SC (stratum corneum) hydration decreases in men age 45+ and transepidermal water is significantly lower in men aged 50+. Taking hyaluronic acid supplements may prevent this decline.
Antioxidant. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble, powerful antioxidant essential for maintaining healthy skin, helping reduce inflammation, and may be effective at reducing UV damage in the skin.
Aloe Vera is a medicinal plant that has been used to treat various health conditions for thousands of years. It contains antioxidants that help protect cells and tissues from oxidation. Aloe Vera significantly improves wrinkles and elasticity in photoaged human skin, with an increase in collagen production. Stimulates Hyaluronic Acid production and improves skin barrier functions.
CURCUMA LONGA (TURMERIC)
Curcuma longa L. (turmeric) of the ginger family belongs to the group of oldest cultivated spice plants in south-east Asian countries. Turmeric is used to treat many health problems, such as skin and digestive issues. It contains the active ingredient curcumin, which has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. In addition, curcumin boosts the activity of the body’s own antioxidant enzymes delivering a one-two punch against free radicals blocking them directly and stimulating the body’s own antioxidant defences at the same time.
